Open Training

Our Open Training program offers you the opportunity to access our studio for your personal training needs. Whether you're a recreational trainer or a professional circus artist, we welcome all levels to share our creative space. To join, simply complete a short application where you can tell us a bit about yourself and how you plan to use the studio. As an unfunded company with limited resources, we aren't able to accommodate drop-ins or last-minute inquiries, but we're excited to support your journey and look forward to having you train with us.

A Safer Space

Since opening the studio in 2019 our studio has garnered a reputation for being a safe, welcoming and inclusive space. To maintain this positive culture, we require an application for our Open Training program.

This process helps us ensure that everyone who joins aligns with the values of our community. While applying doesn’t guarantee entry, we approach each application with care and consideration.

Our goal is to continue fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels respected and inspired.

How to join

Read on for a step-by-step guide.

Joining Open Training is easy — here’s the short version:

  1. Read about the program
  2. Register for an induction
  3. We assess your application
  4. Attend an induction
  5. Start Training!

We’re really proud of the culture we’ve built in our training space — respectful, welcoming, and safe. That’s why we take every application seriously.

Before signing up for an induction, make sure you’ve read about Open Training and what’s expected of participants. When you register, you’ll be asked a few questions — we do read every answer, and approval isn’t automatic. We won’t approve people who don’t demonstrate a commitment to safety and respect.

We’re looking for people who are not only experienced and self-directed, but who understand how to train safely and contribute to a positive space for everyone.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to have you onboard.

About Open Training

Code of Conduct

Everyone training in the space is expected to:

  • Treat others with respect — no harassment, discrimination, or exclusion
  • Ask for clear, verbal consent before any physical contact (spotting, partner work, etc.)
  • Avoid inappropriate jokes, music, or comments (e.g. sexist, racist, queer-phobic, ableist)
  • Take responsibility for your behavior and be open to feedback
  • Follow all safety guidelines, OH&S practices, and opening hours

We operate on a three-strike policy for breaches of conduct. In serious cases, removal may be immediate.

House Rules

These rules keep things fair, respectful, and running smoothly:

  • No early entry or staying late
Only train during listed hours. This includes dropping off or collecting gear — no after-hours access.
  • Gear storage is for active members using sustainable transport
Bike, public transport, or walking only. Ask us before leaving large items.
  • No sneaking people in
Everyone using the space must be registered and approved.
  • No teaching
This space is for personal training, not private lessons. We’ll know if it’s not legit.
  • Communication via email only
No DMs or texts — email helps us keep track of everything.

All training sessions must be booked and paid for. If you are found to be training without booking – penalty fees apply. Repeat offenders will be removed from the program.

Register for an Induction

Inductions

Inductions happen once a week, alternating 4pm Fridays and 10:30am Saturdays. Sessions are listed in our class Portal – link at bottom of page. You’ll see available inductions listed, but submitting a registration is not an automatic booking.

When you register, you’ll be asked a few questions to help us assess your suitability for Open Training. Please answer thoughtfully — we read every application, and approval is not guaranteed.

We assess your application

After you submit your registration, our team will review your answers. From there, you’ll either:

  • Be notified that your application was unsuccessful
  • Be approved and added to the induction session
  • Be asked for more information

Attend an Induction

Nearly There

If approved, you’ll be added to the induction session and be charged:

  • $80 if you’re using your own gear
  • $120 if you’re using ours

Fees must be paid for before the induction.

This cost covers your induction and is credited back to your account to use toward your first 10 sessions. Please note: once you attend the induction, you’re not eligible for a refund, even if you decide not to continue.

That’s It!

After completing your induction, you will have access to book Open Training sessions in the class portal whenever you like.
